Ireland passed a bill recognizing civil partnerships, which includes gay civil partnerships, reports the Irish Times.
Ireland’s upper parliamentary house, the Seanad, passed the Civil Partnership Cohabitation Bill in a 48 to 4 vote after the bill passed through the lower house, the Dáil, without a vote today.
